We
would like to introduce you to our
first, full-time Facility Manager,
Jerry Wooten, who began his duties
on March 12. Jerry has been on the
facility management team at the
Chapel Hill Bible Church and has
also been assisting The Church of
the Good Shepherd part-time in the
area of computer technology.
As CGS enters its new facilities
-- doubling its square footage --
and continues to be a resource church
for groups outside our own church,
the need has become apparent for
a full-time person to manage volunteers
and events, facility, grounds, and
security.
Jerry has a theological background
(M.Div. and M.A.T.S. from Gordon-Conwell
Theological Seminary), a computer
background (proprietor of Phaser
Computers in Chapel Hill), and facility
management background (in Massachusetts
and Chapel Hill). We have found
that he has a unique blend of management,
facility, and people skills to help
us as we move into a new phase of
ministry at CGS.
Jerry’s wife, Carol, is obtaining
her M.Div. and CPE (clinical pastoral
education) degrees from Gordon-Conwell
Seminary; their daughter, Maria,
is in the first high-school class
at Trinity School (which she has
attended since first grade).
Jerry enjoys swimming, chess, and
reading and teaching New Testament
Greek. He also looks forward to
working with those from CGS and
from the community who will be using
this beautiful new facility with
which we have been blessed. His
office is in the new office wing,
and he can be reached by email (gwooten@cgsonline.org)
or by calling the church office
(490-1634, ext. 313).
