"To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is perfection. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.”
— Tim Keller, Pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church, NYC
Interested in plugging into a Community Group?
At Church of the Good Shepherd, we are convinced that Jesus intends for his followers to share and do life together (Acts 4:32-35). If you are not yet participating in one of our Community Groups, click here and we’ll get you connected!
Our vision for Community Groups is to...
- Meet weekly for friendship, for prayer, and for growth in Christ around Scripture.
- Gather to perhaps share a meal, pray, hear one another’s “stories”, encourage each other, and spur one another on in faith and good works (Hebrews 10:24).
- Create a safe place for people to wrestle with and endeavor to bring the grace of the Gospel to their families, workplace, neighborhood, and city.
Groups may also choose their own topic or Scripture study, but please let one of our pastors be a resource and sounding board as you think through options.
Again, if interested in joining a Community Group, click here and provide the requested information. Generally speaking, we prioritize two times during the year when we push to incorporate new attendees into groups: at the beginning of the school year (Aug-Sep) and at the beginning of the calendar year (Jan-Feb).
