CGS North is a geographical flock for all ages (adults) made up of those who live in Durham, north of The Church of the Good Shepherd and 15/501 business, including zip codes 27701, 27704, 27705, 27712, and some 27707. Jerry Currin is the minister to the North Flock.
During the school year, the CGS North Teaching Fellowship meets every Sunday at 9:30 AM in Room S203 (south entrance). The CGS North Flock is a diverse group of ages and stages, careers and families, who gather for weekly worship, weekly fellowship and teaching, and regular small group gatherings in neighborhoods. We focus on fellowship, community, Bible study, and ministry opportunities. Here is where you can meet people in our flock and build relationships. It is also an opportunity to learn to apply Scripture to daily life. Join us!
| WINTER 2011 “Sermonetics” - When you hear a sermon, do you figure out the context and content of the scripture passage before, after, or during the sermon? Or maybe never because context can be lengthy and often does not play a part in the sermon? Join us for an enriching and interactive experience each Sunday as we review the scriptural context of that morning’s sermon (before you hear it) and learn “the rest of the story" including controversial issues that never make it into a sermon. Hear what the preacher would like for you to hear if only he had time and also hear what some of your fellow worshippers will be thinking as they listen to the sermon. 9:30 AM in Room 204 |
Shepherding groups are one of the primary means by which we pursue Gospel Community. We meet in small groups to grow in Christ’s grace via study of the Scriptures, prayer, fellowship, mutual encouragement, and service together. Please contact for information on these groups.
