Director of MusicMary Hamilton is the Music Director at the Church of the Good Shepherd who came to us from Auburn, Alabama, in August, 1999. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from Florida State University (she's very proud of her Seminole football team!) and received her Masters of Music degree at Auburn University in 1989. She has taught piano privately at the Georgia Academy of Music in Atlanta, done extensive piano accompanying for various cellists, violinists, and vocalists, served as church music director in two other churches, taught music K-12 in a private school, and has worked in three legal offices as a secretary. Mary is the proud wife of her husband Gary and the mother of two grown children--Alan (married to Morgan and living in Birmingham, Alabama), and Jennifer (formerly worked at CGS as assistant director of youth). Mary's duties at CGS include writing and arranging praise music for Sunday mornings, accompanying worship music on the piano, conducting adult and children's choirs, coordinating special music presentations and staying on top of the administrative duties necessary to keep CGS's music program up and running effectively . She welcomes your comments and suggestions and is enjoying the opportunity to serve Christ here in the Triangle area.
