| Missions
at The Church of the Good Shepherd (CGS)
is defined as "sending out" beyond
the cultural, linguistic, and/or geographical
boundaries of our area (Chapel Hill &
Durham) to fulfill the Great Commission
of our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19,
20). |

| PURPOSE
OF OUR MISSIONS POLICY: |

affirm the biblical basis of missions and
its integral place in the life of CGS. |

achieve a clear sense of direction and strategy
for our distinctive role in helping fulfill
the Great Commission. |

promote thoughtful evaluation of crucial
issues affecting the worldwide church. |

To inform church members, pastoral staff,
committees or boards of the church, missionaries,
and agencies of the principles by which
the missions policy operates. |

To
define the relationship of CGS to both missionaries
and the sponsoring agencies. |

To
ensure proper stewardship of human and financial
resources. |
