  Mission
xxx xxx The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross, will provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
  Opportunities
 
  •  
Blood Services: Assist as a greeter or canteen volunteer at the Blood Center at 4737 University Drive or at a mobile blood drive through our area.
 
  •  
Emergency Services:
      Disaster Action Team - be part of a team to respond to fire scene after hours and assist fire victims.
      Disaster Volunteers - train in disaster readiness and serve in local or national disasters. For example, train to work at a local disaster shelter.
      Comfort Kits - make small plastic bags filled with basic toiletry items to be given to victims of disasters ( such as house fires) by relief workers.
 
Transportation Services (Durham Location Only)
      Driver - Drive low-income or elderly patients to medical appointments in a Red Cross vehicle
      Dispatcher - take incoming calls regarding transportation needs and dispatch units appropriately.
