Murray
Garrott grew up in Memphis, Tennessee,
and attended Vanderbilt University
where he played varsity tennis for
four years. After a brief stint
on the professional tennis circuit,
he moved to Atlanta, Georgia, and
worked for a regional bank focusing
primarily in retail and Human Resources.
In 1991 Murray left the bank and
moved to Jackson, Mississippi, where
he began his ministry training.
After completeing his Masters of
Diviinity in 1994, he moved to Scotland
and earned a Ph. D. in Ecclesiastical
History at the University of Edinburgh.
Murray joined the ministerial staff
at the Church of the Good Shepherd
in 1997. He is married to the former
Liz Parks of Knoxville, Tennessee.
They have two children, Tom and
Grace. |
